  • 2012-04-23 - Port Coquitlam Council Shaves Expenses to Reduce Tax Increases - (pdf) - Council concluded its public consultation Monday night on the 2012-2016 Financial Plan, scheduled for consideration on April 30 and adoption on May 14.  The plan outlines spending and revenues for the next five years and includes the current year's budget and taxes.
  • 2012-04-19 - Port Coquitlam Receives Annual Report and Budget Awards - (pdf) - The City has received its sixth consecutive Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada, awarded for the 2010 Annual Report. Port Coquitlam was one of 20 local governments in B.C. and 43 across Canada to receive the award.
  • 2012-04-18 - Volunteers Were the Stars at Port Coquitlam Event - (pdf) - About 250 people attended the City of Port Coquitlam's 2012 Volunteer Recognition Awards and Tribute at Riverside Secondary.  The event was themed: "Volunteers: The Stars of our Community" to reflect the important role volunteers play in Port Coquitlam.
  • 2012-04-17 - Port Coquitlam Celebrates Arrival of Rick Hansen Relay May 17 - (pdf) - Port Coquitlam is more than one of 600 communities being visited by the 12,000-km relay, which began August 24 in Newfoundland and ends May 22 in Vancouver.  This relay is scheduled to stop at Terry Fox Secondary on May 17 at about 1:30pm and at Leigh Square at about 3:30pm.
  • 2012-04-16 - Find Some Treasures This Weekend in Port Coquitlam - (pdf) - On Saturday April 21 from 9am to 1pm more than 120 homes from across Port Coquitlam will host garage sales as part of the city's fourth annual City-wide Garage Sale.  The annual event promotes recycling by encourageing residents to dispose of unwanted items in an earth-friendly way.
  • 2012-04-11 - Port Coquitlam Celebrates Youth Week May 1 to 7 - (pdf) - Held each year throughout BC from May 1-7, Youth Week recognizes the contributions of youth and strengthens the bonds between young people and their communities.  Youth play akey role in organizing each year's events in Port Coquitlam, which has been celebrating youth Week since 2007.
  • 2012-04-05 - Have your say April 19 about the Future of Maple Creek - (pdf) - An open house set for April 19, 6-9pm in the Outlet at Leigh Square Community Arts Village (#2100-2253 Leigh Sq.) will give the public an opportunity to learn about and provide feedback on the draft Maple Creek Integrated Watershed Management Plan being developed by the cities of Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam.
  • 2012-04-03 - Share Your Waste-Loss Story and Enter to Win an iPad and Other Prizes - (pdf) - Kicking off April 4, the contest is part of the City's Waste-Loss Challenge, which encourages residents to "watch their waste-line" and think closely about how they dispose of the unwanted material in their household.
  • 2012-04-02 - Survey Asks Residents and Businesses How City Can Communicate Better - (pdf) - The surveys, which take five to ten minutes to complete, are one of several ways the City is gathering input as it develops its first Strategic Communications Plan.  All respondents will be entered in a draw to win one of ten $20 Parks and Recreations gift cards.
